What are my most popular eCommerce metrics?
The ecommerce section of Google Analytics contains most of the popular financial metrics available to someone at the platform level. The Google Analytics eCommerce report breaks down your site’s revenue and conversion data by product type, which is an easy way to see exactly what you’re selling. You can also take a look at the average order size and the conversion rate.
But what if you want to dig a little deeper into your ecommerce metrics? You can use the Advanced Segmentation tool within Google Analytics to create segments based on any number of dimensions and metrics. For example, you can create a segment that shows you a list of the top revenue generating products by segmenting on any of the following metrics: product, product category or transaction amount.
After you’ve created that segment in Google Analytics, you can easily import it into the GA Insights platform to build a custom report that shows you a list of the top 10 products by revenue over a specific time period, then get a report sent directly to Slack every day at 9am.
